Tevora Authorized to Conduct Official CMMC Audits for Defense Contractors with C3PAO Status

IRVINE, Calif. – September 14, 2026 – Tevora, a leading national cybersecurity and compliance consulting firm, has successfully achieved authorization as a CMMC Third-Party Assessment Organization under the Department of Defense’s Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) program. This designation authorizes Tevora to conduct official CMMC Level 2 certification assessments for organizations that handle Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) within the Defense Industrial Base (DIB).
The achievement demonstrates Tevora’s continued investment in helping government contractors strengthen cybersecurity programs, protect sensitive information, and maintain eligibility for Department of Defense contracts. Already a Registered Practitioner Organization (RPO) supporting in CMMC readiness activities, the added C3PAO status allows Tevora to play a critical role in the full CMMC lifecycle, from readiness assessments and remediation planning to independent certification assessments.
“Achieving C3PAO status represents the culmination of decades of experience and investment in our federal advisory and cybersecurity capabilities,” said Ray Zadjmool, Tevora CEO. “As CMMC requirements become a critical component of defense contracting, organizations need experienced partners who understand both the technical realities of cybersecurity and the assessment process itself. We are proud to help organizations across the Defense Industrial Base achieve and maintain compliance while strengthening the security of the nation’s supply chain.”
The Race to CMMC Certification for DoD Contractors
The CMMC program was established by the Department of Defense to verify that contractors and subcontractors have implemented appropriate cybersecurity controls to safeguard Federal Contract Information (FCI) and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI). With CMMC requirements now embedded into procurement processes, organizations throughout the defense supply chain are facing increased pressure to demonstrate compliance and cyber resilience.
Of the approximately 104,000 organizations that may require Level 2 CMMC certification, which requires an independent C3PAO audit, less than 2% have achieved this milestone. This gap may hold uncertified organizations back from valuable contracts with the DoD.
For years, Tevora has provided organizations with cybersecurity advisory services aligned to NIST SP 800-171, DFARS requirements, and CMMC readiness initiatives. Through its established CMMC practice, Tevora has helped organizations assess cybersecurity maturity, identify compliance gaps, develop System Security Plans (SSPs), implement remediation strategies, and prepare for certification.
The achievement further expands Tevora’s growing portfolio of cybersecurity and compliance services, which includes penetration testing, cloud security, digital forensics, FedRAMP, HIPAA, HITRUST, ISO 27001, PCI DSS, SOC 2, and other cyber risk management services. Tevora continues to invest in innovative solutions and specialized expertise that help organizations navigate an increasingly complex threat and regulatory landscape.
